The Skills and Confidence You’ll Acquire
Prepare yourself for a satisfying career in community service work. During our 44-week program Community Service Worker Diploma Program, you’ll learn how to promote the rights of your clients and encourage them to meet their responsibilities in a way that empowers them. Part of the program will focus on addressing multicultural backgrounds, disabilities, gender, sexual orientation, family issues and substance abuse. From there, you’ll learn to create and maintain a helping relationship through effective communication and interactive skills; assess individual, family, group or community needs; set goals and develop appropriate intervention methods; implement strategies to increase client’s problem-solving abilities; and identify and mobilize community resources relevant to the client’s needs.
